Frances Kay (Rice) Davis

Frances Kay Rice Davis transitioned this life to Glory on Sunday, February 25, 2024.  She is the daughter of Matthew Rice and Virginia (Blade) Rice and wife of 53 years to Ross Edward Davis.  Born January 14, 1945, in Terre Haute, Indiana, the oldest of 5 children, Frances was a hardworking and loving big sister.  She attended Garfield High School, and graduated in the Class of 1963.  A very intelligent young lady, she also attended classes at Indiana State University.  She met and married Ross Edward Davis in 1971.  They were married on January 2, 1971, at Saints Home COGIC by the Elder Mark H. Blade.  They had been married an amazing 53 years.  Frances was saved at the age of nine years and never turned back.  Always faithful, hardworking, and committed to the Church.  She was always fervent in faith and prayer, taking up where her mother left off.  She picked up that mantel of prayer and labored in love for her children, family, and the Saints of God.  Frances had always done the work of a Missionary, but she received her Deaconess Missionary License in 2018.  She was a Sunday School Teacher, YPWW Teacher, and Purity Lady for more than 30 years, working in the local district and state capacities. She served as the President of the Mothers Board for over 10 years and as Church Custodian for 20 years.  As well as working in many jobs in the secular field. Frances was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Virginia Rice; sister Yvonne Rice; and nephew Patrick Whitfield.  She leaves to love and cherish her memory husband Ross Edward Davis; daughter Regina Smith; sons Rodney Davis and Reggie Davis; grandchildren Devante Smith and Elise Smith; great grandchild Jamie Garcia; sisters Gail (Rice) Whitfield and Patty Jo (Rice) Lewis; brother Larry Rice; and a host of family and friends.  Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 12:00p.m. in Saints Home Church of God in Christ, 2210 N 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana 47804.  Pastor Mark. J. Blade will officiate.  Burial will follow services in Grandview Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 10:00a.m. until service time.
