Casey Rae Coogan

Casey Rae Coogan, 37, of Terre Haute, Indiana, was born October 19, 1988. She was the first born child of Stacy Ann Nasser and Richard Raymond Coogan Jr. Anyone who had the honor of knowing Casey, as a baby, would tell you she was the happiest, giggling baby with a smile on her face.  That smile and giggle would remain with her for the rest of her days, even into her death January 3, 2026.  Casey always wanted to help others even if she needed help herself (whatever it may have been). She was always rooting for the underdog and was the leader of their pack. Casey was often misunderstood by many during her lifetime. If a person took the time to really get to know her, they would have seen her heart of gold shining so brightly and clearly visible as it was worn on the sleeve of her hoodie. She was very rarely angry or raised her voice. Casey was the best person to talk to about anything. She would actively listen and would carry the secrets of others on her shoulders. She was a very loyal friend. There has been more than one person claim her, to be their best friend. She was well liked and loved by many. Casey was a woman who made a lot of difficult choices in her life. However, they were always with good intentions. She was a wild child with a free spirit who continued her happy go lucky dance upon planet Earth, until her death on January 3, 2026. Now she is free to rush the atmosphere to her place in heaven. Casey was preceded in death by 5 amazing grandparents Richard Coogan Sr., Ramona June Coogan, Joyce Coogan, Woodrow S. Nasser I, and Margaret Quillan.  Her family still on planet earth include her parents already mentioned, Stacy Ann Nasser and Richard Raymond Coogan Jr.; children Payton James Whitman, Alyssa Jane Whitman, and Jonny Cox; and siblings Corey Marie Coogan, Richard Raymond Coogan III (Brittany Tingley), Josh Coogan Justin Coogan, Brandon Coogan, and Brandie Coogan; father of her children Alex Whitman and the best step mom ever, Samantha Balder, and also the other father of her son Jon Cox; and many nieces and nephews.   Memorial services are Thursday, January 15, 2025 at 2:00p.m. in Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N 13th Street, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47804. Visitation will be from 1:00p.m. until service time.
